IDPR-Approved Boating Safety Course

Before launching the Online boating safety course the BoaterExam team worked in conjunction with the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation to ensure that all the information in the course is as accurate as possible and will thoroughly prepare students for the Idaho Boating License Test.

The online course contains numerous state-specific sections that highlight Idaho's boating laws, rules and regulations. These sections are highlighted in blue boxes throughout the online boating safety study guide, so watch for them! The final boating safety exam will have a minimum of 10 Idaho-specific test questions that relate to these sections.

Completing the online boating safety course will allow you to obtain your Idaho Boater Education Card (often mistakenly called the Idaho Boating License).

Boating License or Boater Education Card... is there a difference?

The boater education card is proof that you have successfully completed a boating safety course. The boater education card does not expire and does not need to be renewed. Therefore, it is NOT an Idaho Boating License!
