Kansas DWP-Approved Boating Safety Course
Before launching the Online boating safety course the BoaterExam team worked in conjunction with the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks
to ensure that all the information in the course is as accurate as possible and will thoroughly prepare students for the Kansas Boating License.
The online course contains numerous state-specific sections that highlight Kansas's boating laws, rules and regulations. These sections are highlighted in blue boxes throughout the online boating safety study guide, so watch for them!
The final boating safety exam will have a minimum of 10 Kansas-specific test questions that relate to these sections.
Completing the online boating safety course will allow you to obtain your Kansas Boater Education Card.
(often mistakenly called the Kansas Boating License) that is approved by the KDWP. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1989, and less than 21 years of age must have a valid Kansas Boater Education Card to operate on state waters.
Boating License or Boater Education Card... is there a difference?
The boater education card is proof that you have successfully completed a boating safety course. The boater education card does not expire and does not need to be renewed. Therefore, it is NOT a Kansas Boating License!
