State Boating and Boater Education Information

According to Ohio's Mandatory Boater Education law, if you were born after January 1, 1982, and are operating a vessel with a motor greater than 10 horsepower, you are required to successfully complete a National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA)-approved boating safety course (or pass a proficiency exam).

Note: If someone says you need a 'boating license', what they mean is that you need a card or certificate showing you have completed a boating education course.
