Who needs to take the Texas boaters safety course?

All boaters born on or after September 1, 1993 operating on public waters, must have a Texas Boater Education Certificate to operate vessels powered by a motor with a manufacture’s rating of more than 15 horsepower, or wind-blown vessels over 14ft. The boating safety education certificate is proof that you have successfully completed a boating safety course. The boating safety education certificate does not expire and does not need to be renewed. Therefore, it is NOT a Texas Boating License!
