Who needs to take the California boaters safety course?

If you operate a motorized vessel on California waterways you will be required to have a California Boater Card. The law will be phased-in for all boaters over the next 8 years. BOATERexam.com® is a delegated provider for the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways.

Replacement California Boater Card

If your California Boater Card is lost or damaged, please contact the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways at BoaterCard@parks.ca.gov or call 844-421-8333 to order a replacement.

Lost or damaged cards will be replaced for a $5.00 fee.

California Boating License or Boater Card... Is there a difference?

The boater card is proof that you have successfully completed a boating safety course. The boater card does not expire and does not need to be renewed. Therefore, it is NOT a California Boating License!
