Mississippi DWFP-Approved Boating Safety Course
Before launching the Online boating safety course the BoaterExam team worked in conjunction with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks
to ensure that all the information in the course is as accurate as possible and will thoroughly prepare students for the Mississippi Boating License.
The online course contains numerous state-specific sections that highlight Mississippi's boating laws, rules and regulations. These sections are highlighted in blue boxes throughout the online boating safety study guide, so watch for them!
The final boating safety exam will have a minimum of 10 Mississippi-specific test questions that relate to these sections.
Completing the online boating safety course will allow you to obtain your Mississippi Boater Education Card.
(often mistakenly called the Mississippi Boating License) that is approved by the MDWFP. Anyone born on or after June 30, 1980 must have a valid Mississippi Boater Education Card to operate on state waters.
Boating License or Boater Education Card... is there a difference?
The boater education card is proof that you have successfully completed a boating safety course. The boater education card does not expire and does not need to be renewed. Therefore, it is NOT a Mississippi Boating License!
