CHAPTER 9: Boating Education Practices

9.1 IN MONTANA

Youth 13 and 14 years of age must either be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older or must possess a valid Montana motorboat operator's certificate if operating a vessel powered by a motor rated at more than 10 horsepower.

Boater Education Certificate
Persons 13 years of age or older who successfully complete the course will receive a motorboat operator's certificate.
