You can study for your Oregon Boater Education Card for free in

Safe Boating Course section. The course is NASBLA and Oregon State
Marine Board approved and covers all the questions in the online boating exam.
Oregon Boater Exam
The cost of taking the oregon safe boating exam online is $29.95. You pay only when
you pass and your exam fee includes your Oregon Certificate of Completion. The exam consists of 75 questions with a pass score of 80% (60 Questions).
If you happen to fail the exam, you can review the Oregon
Safe Boating Course and retry for free. After you
pass the exam you can get your certificate of completion that allows you
to get an Oregon Boater Education Card (also referred to as an "Oregon
boat license").
Certificate of Completion
Once you have paid for your exam you will obtain your Certificate of Completion. This certificate acts as a temporary for 60 days from the date
of completion. Your Certificate of Completion is required
to get your boater education card.
Boater Education Card
The Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) is the issuer of all boater education cards for the state of Oregon. The OSMB charges a standard fee of $10.00 to process all cards. Click here for

* Children under 12 years old may not operate any power boat
** Children 12 to 15 years old are required to carry their Oregon Boater Education Card on-board AND have a Card-holding adult (16 years
of age or older, 18 years of age for personal watercraft) on-board in direct supervision in order to operate
a powered watercraft GREATER than 10 hp.
*** Children must be 12 years old to take their Oregon Boating Exam and receive their Boater Education Card.
